"We are very fortunate to have a Health Commissioner who cares enough about the people of Logan County to go back to school and further his education in public health," Logan County Board of Health President Dr. Harry Graber said at a meeting of the board Wednesday afternoon.
Logan
County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott recently completed a Master's
degree in Public Health from Wright State University.
Dr. Hoddinott tells us how this accomplishment will better enable him to
serve Logan County.
In other business, board members addressed public concerns regarding the abandoned Darby Creek Apartments, formerly the Middleburg/Zane Township school building. Owned by Dr. Ronald Landefeld of Marion County, the building is overrun by birds and rodents and poses a health threat with asbestos insulation. The board passed a motion to refer the case to the Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Board members also decided to make a recommendation to the Logan County Sheriff's Office in favor of tighter enforcement of junkyard licensing regulations.
In finances, the board approved a $100,000 increase in the home health fund. In public health education, the board approved the full-time reinstatement of Public Information Officer Lesley Rowan.
The board will meet again on August 2nd at one o'clock.
