County entities combine

for flu pandemic summit

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Emergency Management

Agency and Health District combine to present to

employers an informational flu pandemic summit Dec. 6 at the

Hilliker YMCA, with three sessions to choose from.

The summit will provide information for businesses to minimize

the costly effects of a possible flu pandemic, which experts

say happens approximately every 30 to 40 years. The last pandemic

was 38 years ago.

An 8 a.m. session focuses on industry and large businesses, the

4 p.m. session is for small to medium businesses and at 7 p.m. for

all government entities.

Presenters are from the health district, EMA, Mary Rutan Hospital,

Honda of America Mfg., and Citizens Federal Savings &

Loan.

All sessions are free and planning tools are provided. Call the

chamber at 599-5121 by Dec. 1 for reservations.
